Introduction: In the scenario of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS), Orthognathic Surgery (OS) corrected deformities maxillary and mandibular bones OS has evolved a lot in last two decades. treats patients with moderate severe facial deformities, allowing achievement functional balance harmony aesthetics. Objective: To present current findings importance orthognathic surgery treatment obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. Methods: A total 78 articles were found involving mesh terms about OSAS. Initially, was held exclusion existing title duplications following interest described this work. After process, summaries evaluated, new held. Thus, 20 included discussed study. Major considerations conclusion: recent years, involvement deepening oral medicine diagnosis OSAS, role OSAS become increasingly recognized.
